British Columbia Perinatal Health Program

A question for houston mothers, which hospital is better St. Jospeph or the Womens Hospital?

I need to register with a hospital since my due date is coming. I would like some input from those who actually had experience with these hospitals to help me make a decision. Hospitality and comfort are very important to me. I want to be able to give birth and recover in the same room ( i don't want to be moved around). I also want to be able to bring personal items with me to make my stay comfortable and relaxing. Any info that you can give is appreciated.

  1. midwife is really the only way to go in my opinion.....if I was forced at gun point though I would choose the women's hosptial ...I have heard its good. (im in houston btw)
  2. I am from houston as well but North houston.. I am not familiar with the labor and delivery of those hospitals...but you can call and ask them if they transition rooms or you stay in one room all hospitals are different.. when your register though they should give you a tour...mine did it is houston Northwest...and they transition rooms but it is where my dr. delivers so i have no choice..lol..and i had my first there and it went fine I kinda liked delivering in another room because afterwards you go to a nice clean room with new surroundings instead of the room where you Just pushed for hours..lol..but that's my opinion... good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for!!! Congrats!!!
