  1. I hope you find someone that can answer your question better than I can sweetie but I take my hat off to you if you want to do something like that. I know some people who do nursing her in Australia for small children and babies and it's hard work, especially the newbies that come in so sick and they get so attached to them, they get better and then the nurses have to say goodbye to them. I just couldn't I'd be attached to every baby and child that came through the doors, I love kids so I don't think I'd be any good. I don't know what unis you have there but I would think the course itself is at least a 4 year course as I believe that is what it is here in Australia. You also have to get work experience through the hospitals too to help complete your degree. Good luck sweetie and I wish you all the best of wishes in doing what you want.
  2. I live in Cali, and actually I've been thinking of doing this too lately---I want to go to a local jr. college though and it takes 2 yrs to do the nursing program itself, plus pre-requisites (some I already have bc I graduated with a bachelor's in English Lit), and then community work to get licensed. the certificate part I don't know but I imagine 1-2 yrs? so about 3-4 yrs, depending on how fast you work how many classes etc.
