Is the technology used for ultrasounds better at a perinatal Dr office?

My ob works with a high risk ob office and that is where we are sent for ultrasounds. I had one already because i spotted for a bit and am having the anatomical u/s tomorrow. Im curious as to whether this office has higher quality ultrasound machines since my dr has an u/s machine in the office which he has used for me once already...Can ob's do the u/s also or is it reserved for techs? Just curious

1. The high risk office probably has more experience. And a doctor will send you there when a detailed u/s is needed (like the one between 18-20 weeks when you can find out the sex).
2. if you are going to a doctor who works in a high risk area, then you can probably bet on them sending you to the same ultrasound tech that they send everyone else to, which probably means its the best around :)
3. hi..i have a similar question....lol..and i'm sure a question doesn't answer another question but it might help. i go to a perinatal dr and he does a sonogram each time i go in...unlike the normal ones that do just one or two. he also has a sonogram machine in every single examing office.... the doctor normally doesn't do the sonogram though, his assistants do, which apparently are all trained b/c a different assistant (whomever admitted me into the room) does it each time. i've noticed that the only time the dr actually looks at it is when there seems to be a problem. all his machines are also 3d/4d so i'm assuming they do have better tech.
4. I had to go to the "high risk" doctors for my ultrasonds and I think the equipment is pretty much the same but the the doctors and nurses have more experience handleing certain situations.
